Summertime

Days quickly become weeks, weeks become months and months a year before you know it.  It seems like with any major change after you get through the first month, routine becomes regular and/or a new normal settles in.  Since all of my boxes were shaken up and packed up, one month has passed and I can say new normal is settling in.  Best of all, it's SuMMeRtimE!!!

Hired Help ...

While living in Huntsville I've been fortunate to help out at Wendy Lynn's Boutique.  The namesake of my best friend Wendy.  One of our customers recently was in getting ready for a trip.  In the course of her shopping she shared that she is moving from the Hill Country and building a house in the area on her sister's ranch after losing her husband in Febraury.  While I can't relate to her new normal, I can relate to adjusting to a new normal.  Conversations like those make me thankful for the chance to interact with people and offer encouragement.  I can't help but think too how Wendy would be proud to know a store named in her memory brightens someone's day!

Celebrate good times ...

This year my Mom is retiring after 22 years as Librarian at Scott Johnson Elementary. We were all able to attend her school retirement party and celebrate her accomplishment.

Good tunes ...

Seems like summertime always brings out some good tunes for an iPod update.  Here's a few new songs on my iPod for summer:
  • Good Girl - Carrie Underwood
  • Pontoon - Little Big Town
  • Drunk on You - Luke Bryan
  • Something 'Bout a Truck - Kip Moore
  • Kissed You Goodnight - Gloriana
  • Angel Eyes - Love and Theft
  • Hunter Hayes - Wanted
  • Cory Morrow - Hold Us Together (a Matt Maher re-make)
Texas Coast ...

It's no secret I love the Texas Coast, and Port O'Connor is one of my favorite places to go!  Despite having been sick, I rallied for Memorial Day weekend in POC.   Time on the boat, fishing, jet skis, cookouts, good friends and a road trip with my second family combined for a perfect get-away.

Overall, I am continually amazed by the opportunities I have while in a period of transition and really try to soak them up!  Hope your summer kicks off with a great start!

Blessings,
Angie
